People that like both heavy metal AND rap at that age? They are very different types of music and very different types of people to hang out with. Also, not everyone that likes that music does drugs nor is there any proven correlation between them so destroying the music would do nothing. It's more likely that shunning all your former friends and family 'helps' you get out of that environment but replacing it with a cult mindset is not the answer. Both heavy metal and rap have been ostracized by the WTBTS cult for a long time so this is most likely one of those made up stories or at best made up out of different, hyped up, overexagerated stories.

Everything In The Universe Was Created By Absolutely Nothing.

repeat this sentence over and over again and you will realize why it's impossible for some people to accept the big bang model.

Nothing on this plain. Look at the work they are doing with dark matter and dark energy these days. Maby the pinpoint where all matter, energy, space and time came from a pinpoint from another realm.
They already know where all matter, energy, space and time came from. As a matter of fact it has always been there in some form or another. The Big Bang theory (what theoretical physics claimed happened in the first few nanoseconds of the universe at least) has been empirically proven with particle accelerators. Dark matter is there to explain the gravitational pull of objects that exist but that do not have any emissions and dark energy is only there to explain why the universe is expanding at an accelerating rate, actually those are entirely within the framework of a Big Bang theory, not of a God theory.
Actually, if God created everyone of us to their kind these questions come up: why do all creatures from fish to mammal share similar biologies? why are we built so poorly? what is the deal with the laryngeal nerve taking a long, unnecessary detour to reach a place right next to where it started, wouldn't proper engineering have fixed that? why do we have a need for an opposable thumb (to use tools) if God was just going to provide for all in a paradise from trees and vegetation of the field? why are we built and required to be omnivores while the bible (the story of Noah) suggest we were originally vegetarians?
There is so much evidence against God that it can not be taken seriously. All theists have recently done to prove God exists is continue adapting this God-person to fit current scientific evidence. God in the scientific community is there to fill the voids, not to answer questions, if the voids disappear so does God.
God does exist in the minds of people however it is only proven to be a figment of the imagination so far. God-experiences can be induced in the brain by powerful magnets that alter the chemistry in the brain. God-experiences can be seen on MRI's as well but as the Gorillaz famously said
"Where the thought is I brought all this
So you can survive when law is lawless
Feelings sensations that you thought was dead
No squealing remember that it's all in your head"

Hawkins didn't respond to that particular question because it's just feeding the troll. Gravity does not 'come' from anywhere, it just is a property of all celestial bodies caused by their mass.

"Energy can be neither created nor destroyed. It can only change forms."
So first of all the universe (the collection of matter and energy) has always been here, it can not be created nor destroyed, it can only change forms which explains the Big Bang. We're only living in one instance of this Big Bang and a lot of people don't understand that according to the laws of thermodynamics there have been and will be an infinite number of Big Bangs before and after this one but it really doesn't matter because we can't look into time before our Big Bang or after it so we don't consider it (the timeline for us actually started with the Big Bang, the current timeline did not exist before that to go to or see evidence off). Proof of the big bang is the decaying of elements, the eventuality of thermal equilibrium (universe's heat death), background radiation, expansion of the universe etc. (there is a LOT of theoretical physics and observations behind it each one spanning one or more individual fields of research in itself).
Read Einstein for a change and try to understand it (I think all of his books are free for download).
If you want to claim God exists as a physical person and has always been here even before the creation of our Universe, he has to be the Universe and all of us for it to exist since those fundamental laws of physics cannot be broken.

Unwritten Rules
by Lady Lee inwe all know jws must live by many rules.
mostly they are called "principles" because the wts doesn't want to appear to be like the scribes and pharisees that christ condemned.
so they renamed them as something other than "rules".

The unwritten rule that everybody has to look like the pictures in the WT. They even released a booklet on how to dress when going to Bethel and this was said to also apply in the meetings.
The unwritten rule that whatever your conscience allows you to do, you should never talk about it with anyone.
The unwritten rule that you should not have access to non-mainstream JW materials (the elder book, the gilead school notes)
The unwritten rule that it doesn't matter how much you claim to go out in service, if you're not seen by others you won't ever be appointed.
The unwritten rule that you better get married before doing any privilege of service. Not being married means you're either spanking the monkey or are gay, either is not acceptable for privileged people.

How the WTBTS creates atheists
by Nickolas ini am an atheist.
i arrived at this juncture in my life despite not wanting to.
when i first met the witnesses at 22 i was a seeker looking for answers to the question of life - in other words, prime cult target material.

If you don't believe in evolution it's because you're lacking in understanding of the underlying processes. A lot of those scientists are already predisposed by their faith to come to a certain conclusion and they can write all they want to, Freddie also thought he was a translator of the Hebrew language until he had to prove it. Religion doesn't fit into science since science is based on proof and you can't prove faith by the very definition of faith (the things believed that cannot be proven).
I don't think JW's create atheists as much as breaking free from the cult mindset makes one hypervigilant against other cult-like programs that religions in general practice. They all require allegiance to unproven, illogical statements that cannot be explained yet have to be accepted. Faith in it's definition is a precursor to cultism. All religion is imho simply laced with self-serving practices (give money, give time, praise the pastor) and that is what even JW's claim should not be found in any religion thus people look for religions that do not have these inherent however none are to be found.

Maze, please respond to my previous post on this thread according to your form of Watchtowology. Also Maze, did you know tobacco is used on organic farms as a bug repellent? Does that mean JW's can't eat organic fruits and vegetables since they are practically covered with tobacco?
The prohibition in the OT is only because of the symbolic value of blood, they had no idea of the health considerations. Given that they were nomadic for quite a while, blood is actually very nutritious and frequently used by nomadic groups when they are short on supplies so I doubt they really saw the medical value (if there is any) of abstaining from the eating of blood.
Current-day Jews or Muslims do not abstain from the medical use of blood however even though they both have the same scriptures where it says to abstain from blood. How do you argue that Jews and Muslims that are far more 'orthodox' and literal in the interpretation of the text do not feel that this applies to the life-saving properties of blood but only to the symbolic value of blood.
Also, if Blood is so important for life saving and eternal salvation, why does the Watchtower condone the use of blood in Bulgaria in exchange for state recognition (and tax savings) of Jehovah's Witnesses? Why are children allowed to have blood transfusions just so the cases don't get to court?

@Maze:
Jesus healed on the Sabbath even though he was expressly forbidden to do such thing in the law of Moses. He could've waited until the next day and healed those people. Why did he not do so?
Likewise in the law of Moses it says to abstain from the eating of blood. If Jesus would've thought that blood would save somebody's life, would he not have used it?
What was the point in Jesus giving his blood for our life if we are just going to throw our life away whenever we get seriously sick or get in an accident. You do not condone suicide do you? Yet, some people have committed suicide by not allowing necessary medical treatment that was proven to have helped (there are no alternatives in the case of eg. massive blood loss).
The things Paul wrote was to abstain from blood and get circumcised where your conscience obliged you to so they didn't upset the weak-of-faith Jewish-Christian community. Paul also said to abstain from the eating of things sacrificed to idols but not to inquire about it when the same meat was sold on markets. This was done to help the weak-of-faith and those that were easily stumbled, not as a rule to be held in the strictest. If all you could afford was used meat, you shouldn't have to die of hunger just to satisfy those that are easily stumbled.

One of my family members was about to be raptured last night but they resuscitated her so now she's stuck I guess. She signed a do-not-resuscitate order after that but I think she might be too late.
